Miscellaneous Mondays ~ The Infinity Dreams Award

infinitydreamsaward

The lovely Lalaithiel over at The Wanderer (go check it out—her NaPoWriMo poems are absolutely fabulous) nominated me for the Infinity Dreamer award over a month ago, and I’ve finally gotten around to doing it. It’s rather fitting award for me,  as I’m  quite the dreamer. This award works like this: I have to thank and follow Lalaithiel (done!), reveal eleven facts about myself, answer the questions Lalaithiel posed to me, and nominate eleven people with my own questions. Ready? Let’s go!

Eleven facts about this dreamer:

1. If I had to go into some realm of science as a profession, I’d pick genetics. I can I assure you I won’t become a scientist, but I do think genetics is fascinating.

2. My favorite genres of photography are macro and portraits.

3. I am an INFJ, the rarest Myers-Briggs personality type.

4. My favorite superhero is Captain America.

5. One of my biggest dreams (fitting fact, don’t you think?) is to go surfing.

6. Someone once thought I was five years younger than I was.

7. Someday I want to go up to some random person on the street who’s listening to music on their iPhone and ask them, “Do you hear the people sing?”. (Les Mis joke, for the uninitiated.)

8. There was a time in my life when I wanted to be a vet. It was a very brief phase, let me tell you that. =P

9. On my iPod shuffle, I have Lotr soundtracks, Les Mis, Selah, Avalon, Twila Paris, classical music, Carolyn Arends, and Casting Crowns.

10. My friend once announced about me to a bunch of people, “Her name is Abindale!” (It’s really Aberdeen.)

11. My favorite flower is either a lupine or a hyacinth.

Lalaithiel’s questions:

1. What’s your middle name? If you don’t have one, what would you want it to be?

I don’t really want to share on here, if you don’t mind, but if I could pick another one … probably René, since I like the meaning (reborn).

2. If you could be any character in the last book you’ve read, who would it be? Why that character?

Awesome question. The last book I finished was Murder Must Advertise by Dorothy L. Sayers (I told you I’m obsessed with her), and I guess I’d want to be Mary, because although she plays a small part in this particular book, she’s still awesome. Besides, having Lord Peter as a brother sounds irritatingly wonderful. ;D

3. Which Hogwarts house would you be in (Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Slytherin, or Ravenclaw)?

While I haven’t read Harry Potter, quizzes and research have confirmed that I’d be in Ravenclaw.

4. Do you enjoy reading picture books?

I do! With many younger siblings, they abound at our house, and I love paging through them. Not only are they a nice break from more intense and heavy chapter books, but I love seeing how authors are able to portray truth and poignant messages while doing so through a kid’s perspective. Plus, the pictures usually are so beautiful and adorable.

5. What’s your favorite language that you do not know?

I suppose I’d say French, just because I love how it sounds and both my parents know it. Or maybe Sindarin/Quenya, if those count. =)

6. What’s your favorite boy name?

Ooh, hard question. This changes regularly, but right now, I like Ezekiel with the nickname Zeke.

7. Girl name?

Once again, it changes, but currently, Callista.

8. Would you rather lose the ability to hear music or see in color for a year?

Definitely lose the ability to see in color. I don’t think I could live without music.

9.  You’re walking down the street and a stranger runs up to you excitedly. They ask for your photograph, exclaiming that you look just like one of the characters in a novel they’re writing. What do you do?

Hmm, this is tough. The dreamer side of me would be so flattered and excited, and I’d say yes, pose, ask for their info so they could send me their story … I mean, they’re totally a kindred spirit! I can (almost, but not quite) see myself doing the same thing.

However, the practical side of me would be more cautious. I don’t like random strangers having my photo. I’d probably end up in a compromise, asking for some proof that they’re writing a novel or securing their promise that they won’t share the photo, and then posing for it.

10. What would you want someone to do for you if you’re upset about something?

If they’re with me in person, I just want them to be there for me, listen to me if need be, maybe offer some advice, definitely a hug and a prayer. If they’re not, I just want to know that they’re praying for me and that they’re there for me and are willing to bear with my rants.

11. What word do you think fits its meaning the best?

Hmmm. Probably something with onomatopoeia, like clatter or crash or bubble. Ooh, or jubilee. I’ve always loved that word, and it just sounds so joyful and free.

 My Nominees and Questions:

I can’t think of anywhere near eleven nominees, and I’m sorry if you’e already done this, but here you go: Sarah at The Word Collector, Elisabeth, Sarah at Light and Shadows, and Lonnera. As always, this is totally optional.

As for the questions:

1. What’s your favorite restaurant?

2. What about a book makes you close it and think, “Wow, that was really good”?

3. Would you rather be the oldest of twenty kids or the youngest, and why?

4. What kinds of things make you laugh really hard?

5. What is one thing about a book that will make you not finish it?

6. What is your favorite kind of blog post to write (lists, random musings, poetry, advice, etc.)?

7. Who was your least favorite character in the last book you read, and why?

8. If a tree falls in a forest—just kidding. ;D What kinds of thing make you cry?

9. What’s the best movie you’ve seen recently?

10. Someone comes up to you and says, “I am about to embark on a difficult quest whose outcome could determine the fate of the world. Please give me one piece of advice that will help me on my journey.” What do you say to them?

11. What are three things you would tell your younger self?

And that’s all, folks! As always, please feel free to spread this award, even if I haven’t tagged you. Just make sure to tag me. Or, if you find one of my questions particularly interesting, answer it in the comments! I’d love to know more about all of you.

  3. Thanks for tagging me! This is the second time I’ve been tagged for this award, which makes me happy- I love answering the questions on these sorts of things. 😀
Genetics is cool, I agree. I’d probably go into chemistry or maybe physics if I were going to be a scientist, but genetics would be either my second or third choice.
Also, Captain America is awesome. 😀

    1. Oh dear, well, I’m glad you don’t mind being tagged twice. I try not to do that, but I’m only human, I suppose. Haha, I love answering the questions, too.
Wow, that’s neat. I’m doing chem right now, and it’s okay, I guess. I admire the fact that you like it that much, though. =D
      YES. 🙂

      1. I like being tagged twice! It means more questions to answer! 😀
There are some parts I don’t like- naming atoms, mostly. But then there are some parts I really enjoy, like the electron levels that I can’t remember the technical name for. So, yeah. 🙂

        1. Good! I can understand that. =)
Mmm, yeah, that makes sense. I guess, thinking about it that way, I have enjoyed many parts of chem as well.

I too, if I decided to be a scientist, would probably do genetics. It was so fascinating in biology. On the other hand, maybe I'd do criminal forensics, because I'm sure that would include genetics. However the thought of investigating corpses isn't exactly pleasing.
I loved reading this post. =D

That’s so cool! Yep, it was bio last year that made me fall in love with it. Ah, that would be cool, too, though I’m not sure about investigating corpses either. xP
      *beams* I’m glad.
